Dynamic elaboration on the Art & Science of Hazardous Area Protection
Zones
Hazardous Areas are classified into zones based upon the frequency of the occurrence and duration of an explosive Gas or combustible dust Atmosphere , namely ZONE 0, ZONE1, ZONE2 (for Explosive Gas Atmosphere ) and ZONE20, ZONE21, ZONE22 (for Combustible Dust Atmosphere )
That area in which Explosive Gas Atmosphere , consisting of a mixture with air of Flammable substance in the form of gas, vapor or mist is present continuously or for long periods or frequency.
That area in which an Explosive Gas Atmosphere , consisting of a mixture with air of Flammable substance in the form of gas, vapor or mist is likely to occur in normal operation occasionally.
That area in which an Explosive Gas Atmosphere , consisting of a mixture with air of Flammable substance in the form of gas, vapor or mist is not likely to occur in normal operation but, if it does occur , will persist for a short period only.
Place in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a CLOUD of combustible dust in AIR is present continuously or for long periods or frequency
Place in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a CLOUD of combustible dust in AIR is likely to occur , occasionally, in normal operation.
Place in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a CLOUD of combustible dust in AIR is NOT likely to occur in normal operation but , if it does occur, will persist for a short period only
